Microprocessor Based Designs

PMC_XM - The PMC-XM is intended for use in situations where the user wants to control the design. PMC-XM has two FPGA devices built in. The first device takes care of the PCI interface, DMA etc. [Spartan III] The second device [Virtex XC4VSX35-10] is for the user application. The Transition Module [XM] is attached to the Virtex device. The Virtex is further supported by a 1M x 36 QDR SRAM, PLL, Digital Temperature Sensor, and connections to the PMC Pn4 connector. Four LEDs are supplied to the Virtex to provide design status, debugging support and other user purposes. The user mezzanine is designed with exposed metal on the perimeter to allow a "can" to be used with the mezzanine for RF applications. Other user mezzanine designs are possible. The Virtex has a built in CPU which coupled with the QDR provides a great DSP engine for recursive processing. The Virtex has plenty of gates for pipelined processing. The design has been expanded to include the "DIFF" and "TTL" versions which have built in IO to remove the need for the transition module for more generalized design requirements.

PCI_ATM - PCI based ATM interface - i80960 dual PCI RISC CPU, SDRAM, PMC 5357 PHY, Firestream, Fiber Interface [Agilent], PMC slot, FLASH, Smart Card IF, low power CMOS, double sided surface mount.

NADL - Navigation and Data Link - 68020, 68882, 512K SRAM, 1024K Dual Ported EEPROM, Dual Ported RAM, 2 - DUARTs, ARINC-429 interface, VME bus interface, 6U form factor, low power CMOS, double sided surface mount.

MOHAWK - 68020, 68882, 1.25 Mb EEPROM, 1024K RAM, ISA/EISA compatible Bus interface, 4 channel analog acquisition section, Dual Port RAM, 2 - DUARTs, Daughter Board interface [elastomeric connector], DF section. Daughter board contains 4 channel programmable serial interface, and a high speed parallel interface. Low power CMOS double sided surface mount implementation.

SIN [Standard Interface Node] - 68020/68882, 1 Mb EEPROM, 32Kb EPROM, 3 Mb RAM, 2 full VME bus interfaces with slot 1 capability, DUAL Port RAM, special purpose timing [Actel design], Test and Maintenance coprocessor [MC68HC811], 2 DUARTs, Programmable [ATV2500] interrupts [level and vectored/autovectored]

Platform332 - MC68332 based Industry Pack Carrier board with Flash, EPROM, Pseudo Static RAM, EEPROM, A/D, Floppy and hard disk interfaces, and several serial ports.

SDA Serial Digital Adapter - 9U VME design with 64 bit block mode interface to host [SGI ONYX]. SDA provides independent send and receive serial D1 interfaces. Dual 33 MHz. 68030 CPUs provide internal general purpose processing and memory management. Xilinx devices [3 and 4 series] provide real time control for DRAM and D1 interfaces.

TCM - Tuner Control Module - We were hired to take the TCM and make it work. Extensive redesign of Altera FPGA devices and 40 Mhz. 79R3081 control interface. Debugged the hardware, created a chassis level [C] test program and helped with the application software effort. Two custom backplane busses, SCSI, high speed time trigger. High performance SRAM based design.
