The NG4 version of the IP-BiSerial-IO is designated IP-BiSerial-NG4. The -NG4 has a custom Xilinx implementation which allows the user to control the width of the synchronization pulse, the time delay after the sync and the start of data, and the time between data words. The word transfer has an associated Word Sync signal to provide for framing and error checking. The Frame sync signal provides for message level synchronization. In addition to the programmable delays, the base frequency is also programmable. The NG4 is an update from the NG2. The new features include a 50 MHz reference oscillator, no parity option, receive all option, 3 and 4 wire modes. 4 Wire mode with parity checking/generation enabled and odd selected with 512 KHz is the NG2 standard mode.
